Who is GESTRA?

GESTRA is passionate about steam. Leading the market as a global manufacturer of fittings and control technology for steam and condensate.

Our products are used wherever steam is generated, distributed or used, providing reliable end-to-end solutions. Since 1902, GESTRA has led the way in German steam engineering from our base in Bremen.

What does a GESTRA apprentice look like?

We are looking for self-starting, ambitious high school graduates who are looking to kick start their engineering career. 

You will be the kind of person who thrives in a busy environment where no two days are the same. 

Not only will you learn the very foundations of steam systems and engineering, you will also gain experience across the business from marketing through to purchasing. 

You will finish your apprenticeship with an excellent understanding of the principles of steam and condensate engineering and business.

What does a GESTRA apprenticeship / dual study look like

  • 3 - 3.5 year apprenticeship or dual study
  • In-company training alongside studying for your degree (paid by GESTRA)
  • 35 hour working week with flexible working arrangement
  • 30 days vacation per annum
  • Tools and uniform provided for shop floor based apprentices
  • Career opportunities following completion of apprenticeship
  • Opportunities for further training including master’s degree

Current employment opportunities

Precision: the aim of the GESTRA CAM machinist, to take responsibility for the assembly, construction, commissioning, maintenance and repair of systems and machines.

The vital bridge between management and technical, as an industrial engineer you will experience the technical and practical applications within GESTRA.

Covering all aspects of business operations, you will gain an all-round understanding of the practicalities, from the day-to-day to the strategic.
