Data Protection

Thank you for your interest in our online presence! Protecting your personal data is something we take very seriously. In this section, we would like to inform you about the data protection measures taken within our company.

Scope of data protection

The objective of data protection is to secure your personal data. According to Section 3 subsection 1 of the Federal Data Protection Act, "personal data" means any information concerning the personal or material circumstances of an identified or identifiable individual. This includes e.g. details such as name, postal address, e-mail address or telephone number and, possibly, also web usage data such as your IP address.

Scope of data collection and storage

In general, you will not need to provide any personal data when using our internet pages. However, we may need personal data from you in certain cases, in order to actually provide our services. This applies when we are requested to send information material or ordered goods, when you require an answer to specific enquiries or when you wish to use the internal part of our network.

When you ask us to provide a service or to send goods, we collect and store your personal data – as a fundamental rule – only to the extent that this is really necessary for providing that particular service or fulfilling that particular supply contract. For such processes, it may be necessary to pass on your personal data to other companies to which we subcontract the service provision or contract fulfilment. These third parties include e.g. shippers, forwarders and other service providers.

After complete fulfilment of the contract, your data are blocked from further use and then, upon expiry of the applicable period prescribed by tax and commercial regulations, deleted – unless you have expressly consented to prolonged use of your data.

If you have subscribed to our newsletter with your e-mail address, we will also use your e-mail address for the purpose of sending you our own marketing material, above and beyond any contract fulfilment, until you unsubscribe from the newsletter.

To a certain extent, we use cookies. These are small text files which are stored on your computer and allow us to analyse the usage of our website.

Of course, you can view our website without any cookies being set. If you prefer not to have us identify your computer, you can disable the storage of cookies on your hard-disk by choosing the “Accept no cookies” option in your browser. For precise details on how this is done, consult the help pages of your browser. Please note that, if you disable cookies, this may lead to restrictions in the functionality of our web offering.

Restricted use of data

We observe the principle of restricted data usage and, in consequence, collect, process and store your personal data solely for the purposes you have specified and allowed. We will never divulge your personal data to third parties without your express consent, insofar as such disclosure is not required for service provision or contract fulfilment. Disclosure to governmental institutions and authorities with a right to such information will only take place within the scope of our statutory information duties or if we are obligated by a legal ruling to disclose such information.

We also take data protection within the company very seriously. Our staff and our service providers are placed under an obligation to maintain confidentiality and to observe the regulations relating to data protection.

Right to information; right of revocation

You have a right to obtain information at any time about the personal data we have stored about you, free of charge and without having to give any reasons. At any point in time, you can have us block, correct or erase the personal data we have collected about you; in addition, you can at any time revoke your permission for the anonymized or pseudonymized (depersonalized) data collection and storage for the purposes of optimizing our website. You can at any time also revoke the permission you have given us for collecting and using personal data, without having to give any reasons. In such cases, please contact us through the address given in the legal notice. Should you have any queries about our notes on data protection and the processing of your personal data, we will be glad to help you with further details.
